Welcome to the Anti-Ragging Cell

Pahalwan Gurudeen Mahila Mahavidyalaya is committed to providing a safe, secure, and ragging-free campus environment. The institution maintains zero tolerance towards ragging and strictly follows the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of India.

Every student has the right to study in an atmosphere of dignity, respect, and mutual trust. Any act of ragging, whether physical, verbal, psychological, or online, is strictly prohibited.


Objectives

  • Prevent ragging in all forms within the campus.
  • Create a friendly and healthy academic environment.
  • Promote mutual respect among students.
  • Ensure the safety and dignity of every student.
  • Take immediate action on complaints related to ragging.
  • Conduct awareness programmes regarding anti-ragging regulations.

What is Ragging?

According to the UGC Regulations, ragging includes any act that causes or is likely to cause:

  • Physical or mental harassment
  • Teasing or bullying
  • Verbal abuse
  • Indecent behaviour
  • Humiliation or embarrassment
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Financial extortion
  • Cyber ragging through social media or electronic communication

The Anti-Ragging Squad regularly monitors classrooms, corridors, hostels (if applicable), playgrounds, and other campus areas.


Student Responsibilities

Every student shall:

  • Respect fellow students.
  • Maintain discipline inside and outside the campus.
  • Avoid any activity that may amount to ragging.
  • Immediately report any incident of ragging.
  • Cooperate with the Anti-Ragging Committee.

Punishment for Ragging

Students found guilty of ragging may face one or more of the following actions:

  • Written warning
  • Suspension from classes
  • Cancellation of scholarship
  • Debarment from examinations
  • Suspension from the institution
  • Expulsion from the institution
  • Filing of an FIR as per law

How to Report Ragging

Students can report ragging through:

  • Principal’s Office
  • Anti-Ragging Committee
  • Faculty Members
  • Written Complaint
  • Email
  • Telephone

All complaints will be treated confidentially.
